Color and / or suggestions for decorations?

I am a teenager and my room with walls of brown / burgundy carpet and sand. I really not trying to age "garnet" real and former soft beige walls that I have now (I can change) and want to find a way to operate in a more tropical, young, modern, perhaps even an Asian style room.
